Hopefully, more will be housed in similar vessels, plus redundant ferries/cruise ships? Migrants arriving by unorthodox methods, to be located around the British coast, with a fine outlook of the sea or industrial wastelands, must be cheaper than a 4* hotel in Kent?

Those who don't like the offered accommodation need only say, and a one-way ticket to Rwanda, or back home, will be even cheaper!

Everyone is so offended on behalf of the migrants. The pictures I’ve seen the accommodation looks far nicer than some of the mouldy 1 bed flats / beds it’s that we house our own population in.

Has anyone asked the migrants? If it’s dry and safe then it’s better than where they came from or a tent in France.

I've sailed round Portland Bill several times - what an amazing venue for our new guests!
Wonderful views & really nice in the summer.
The barge however is not exactly pleasing to the eye....

You'd think it was pretty obvious wouldn't you! First step to addressing the problem is to fix the broken asylum system by properly resourcing it so that claims are processed within say a max of 12 months. Broken Britain.

Which still means you need accommodation for 60,000 people coming over by boat alone. So what's the acceptable solution for that number....?

Don't get me wrong, the Tories are fking useless on this and numerous other issues. But the problem isn't really of their making (as in exponential rises in numbers using dinghies) and if, as these threads prove, no solution is "acceptable", then no govt will be able to solve this.

So we just have chimps hurling food at each other on fora as the outcome.

I only have an 'obsession' with RAF Scampton, the same I have an 'obsession' about housing migrants at Brooklands, or Goodwood, if you prefer? Maybe the history doesn't matter to you, but I suspect, it matters to many hereabouts on PH, and no mistake!?
