I got a recall notice from BMW (something to do with exhaust coil overheating). I booked it in with local dealer and took it in. After the work was done and I was driving home I noticed the engine light is on. Telephoned them next morning but they keep fobbing me off saying someone will ring back.
Looks like they may have messed something up and now trying to stay numb.

When was this?

Have you rang them back?

Luckly its all sorted now.
Got fed up and drove down to the dealer. They apologised for not ringing back and put the car on diagnostics immediately and the problem was sorted in 10mins. Apparentley it was something called airmax that needed resetting, whatever that means.
Phew!

A prime example of someone moaning on PH rather than just going to get something sorted.

Exactly the same thing happened to me but spotted the engine light immediately and headed back.

It was near closing time so they let me have their brand new 3 series touring demonstrator and told me to have some fun in it before bringing it back the following day.

Lookers BMW in Crewe, fair play to them.
