I am pondering Le Mans and a new tent as my current one is a bit big really. However as I get older I need greater creature comforts so really want a tent that is tall but with a small footprint as it will only be me in it. With the caravan awning we have a bedroom, that has a small footprint but is tall.

Are there any tent options as a shelter from the sun is always handy at Le Mans if I could get one I can zip a bed room on it would be handy!

Any thoughts?

What do you class as small? Coleman do some with a lower sleeping compartment and a taller "living space" that's enough to stand up in. Looks like one model Coleman Waterfall 5 Deluxe has a 5m x 3m footprint. They also do some that are a single tall room. Whatever you do don't get the Tepee type one a mate got for the Silverstone Classic last year I think it came from ToysRUs water just went straight through it.

What about the domestic hub ? Not cheap but you can add sides, a bedroom and connect it to the car.

(think that should be 'Dometic'... ^^^^^^)

Google 'octagonal tents', a fairly recent phenomenon. Not sure how small a footprint you can get, but it looks like you'll certainly be able to stand up in one.

Interesting thanks all.

I also see that Coleman now do a bedroom for their event shelter. Really need it to be half the size it is! Solution might be an event shelter with a smaller tent beside it opening in to the sidewall of an event shelter.

Basically trying to minimise bedroom space and maximise living space within a limited pitch! In the ideal world I'd have a bedroom 6ft tall, 6tt long and 4 ft wide!

Look at the tent I linked to. Set up sideways in the bedroom.

The Hub is 2.5 x 2.5, you can put the bedroom within that or tack it on the outside.
