Headlights v DRL's in Switzerland

Anyone know if LED DRL's replace the daytime headlight requirement in Switzerland please?

Just turn your headlights on if you are concerned that you will fall foul of some rule.

True DRL’s will be compliant, whether they be LED or something else.

When I ran my 2011 Disco 4 in CH, the signature LED ‘fairy lights’ are not considered to be DRL’s so I ran with headlights on all the time (configured by the dealer to run in Scandinavia mode).

AFAIK only dipped headlights are allowed! (live directly on the border, and all the Swiss are using dipped heads..)

Well the Swiss law changed on 1 Jan 2014 (Via-Sicura) and pukka EU compliant DRL’s are sufficient and dare I say it preferable.

It’s only if your car doesn’t have them that the fall-back solution is to run with dipped beams on…

Not sure what the bordering country rules are and if this could be having an impact on what folk do when close to a border.

Feux de circulation diurne = DRL
Feux de croisement = dipped beam
