What is a reasonable price for a Robin?

When less than sober (like now) I have been considering purchasing the Robin at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175650826622 (it has been listed a few times, this is the latest incarnation). Indeed all that stopped me the most recent time to buy it was the only person I know who lives in Folkestone refusing to collect it for me.

With the rather ridiculous price of second hand / classic cars these days is there truely a good reason you shouldn't buy a Robin for only 2k? I've no experience of them but it does look like brilliant fun. Still, no one is nibbling so there maybe something I'm missing. How bad can these things be?

I'm kinda feeling like an idiot not buying it as should be impossible to lose money on it in my mind BUT no one else has been buying it for over a month which suggests that my intuitive valuation is totally wrong...

Well, it was taken eventually, with me dithering continually even after yet another relist. But I'd still like to know how much a Robin ought to be. If anyone knows.

Honestly I'm feeling rather stupid for not just buying it, would have been hard to lose four figures. And I'd have had a Robin!

Was it actually sold or did the the listing just end with no-one mad enough to buy it? If the latter then you might still be able to contact the seller. I don’t know if that’s possible.

I think you would probably get bored of it pretty quickly and potentially hard to move on when that happens.

Always reminded of the review of the Reliant Robin in Car magazine in the early 80s - " a death trap on 3 wheels " and it's sibling the Kitten - " the only good thing about this car is that it has 4 wheels " !!!

I have one that cost me £450 before COVID. It needs a water pump and a choke cable but did pass an MOT recently.

I consider that a bit toppy given how crap they are.
