Care to explain what this means?

To us laymen.

It means they aren't very good at filing appropriate documents at Companies House on time, so Companies House starts the process of striking off the companies.

Usually, the companies in question get around to filing the appropriate document(s) and the process is discontinued.

When I am King they will be immediately struck off for using the American date format.

It says "voluntary strike off" - which means that the striking off has been instigated by the directors rather than an outside third party.

A voluntary strike off is the directors of the company applying to close it down. A compulsory strike off is when you are being forced to close because you are not complying with companies house regulations. As said the latter is often reversed when companies catch up.

In this situation the first company is probably not needed now it’s under different ownership

Yes one of each
The former will just be closing an old PH company and the latter will be late filing probably because of the acquisition

PH seems to be registered in Ireland these days.
