Hi all, I just bought my first porsche a lovely 996.1 C2 and I am over the moon ! I took it to podium place today and it drives amazing! The quickest car I used to own before was a manual 330i E92 so I am taking it easy, but you can tell how much superior the chassis is !

It has quite a nice spec!
- Hollow Turbo Twist
- Harback Sport Seats
- Guards Red seatbelts
- Half silver half black leather (never seen this before on a 996)
- Non-sunroof
- Carbon fibre Gearshifter
- Silver Dials

(Probably I am missing something)

The only issue I have is the radio is asking for a code. Could it be possible to provide me the code for the following CDR-22 Unit:
Type 4467
Serial: Y5025968

Many thanks in advance for your help with this

Kind Regards
Alex

Beautiful!

Does it need anything that’s obvious yet? I bought a 986 needing a clutch, seems they like to have money spent on them!

Hopefully yours won’t be too needy beer

Thanks ! I bought it from the most lovely chap I ever bought a car from. He bought it years ago as a project, and spent on it...wait for it...18K getting it back to this spec. He has a stack of receipts, all the big ticket items have been done by Precision porsche here are some that I can remember:
-Clutch, IMS 2019
-Suspension Refresh, alignment etc. 2020/2021
-New Brembo Brakes (disc, pads, sensors etc.) / Michelin Tyres Wheel Refurbed 2021
- AC Condensers 2022

The bodywork is not perfect, but is ok to me. I wanted something mechanically in good condition that I could drive and enjoy for not a lot of money. This certainly ticks all the boxes. Hopefully is not very needy smile

Lovely - I had an almost identical car. Traded it up for a 996 turbo. Still don't think it's any better, as it's so much heavier feeling!

Nice how much if you dont mind me asking?

I really miss my old 981 Cayman S (sold it to fund a bigger house) wondering if in the future I could afford to get back into a Porsche.

Well done, buy the car you like and want and enjoy it, i am aware there is a lot of hatred for the 996 on these forums but do not worry as personally i like the 996 headlights.

Lovely car, I just don't get the 996 hate.
I came across this
https://www.porscheclubgb.com/forum/tm.aspx?m=1052...

on the PCCB forum, which references this site. One comment is to try 9107 for the request. You could try that and see what happens.

Good luck.

Hey, I paid 11.5K, it was a bit of bargain as the previous owner had spent some money sorting it out mechanically. It has a mileage discrepancy (I believe they shaved 40k miles around 2009) and it is a CAT D car, so obviously that affects the value.

I had a look at it and it seems to have been repaired properly, and the car droves and feels very sorted. (I drove another example of a 2001 with 150k miles and a bit less sorted and it was quite a difference)

I like to believe it was quite a good buy, but I had to be quick as I noticed it came late at night in autotrader, next morning I was a the seller house. When I met the owner and the car I knew it was the right car for me. The story behind it adds up to the car for me and I am over the moon!

Hope you find a nice 996 they are lovely cars!

Thanks I messaged Mark Hamilton from the PCCB and he came back with the code! Again another lovely chap, and this keeps adding to the great experience of porsche ownership smile
