It's such a good feeling when after about a year of not running (read sitting outside in all weather) the Mini finally starts and runs relatively smoothly! I changed the oil and plugs, and checked the ignition, dashpot etc, and it's all good! It's a bit lumpy, but that'll soon go away.

However, my clutch won't work at all (you can't push the pedal down), my brake lights aren't working and neither are the indicators (but the hazards do). That's all I can see so far, as I can't road test it. So any ideas on the above? The rear drums are a bit stuck but they should free easily enough, and the discs are fine. Overall, a good result! :D

Hey, it must be catching....mine started just the other day after a FULL (almost finished) rebuild, front to back. Totally stripped engine etc....Even went into gear and moved forward and back, albeit without any water in cos I'm waiting for couple of hose clips. Turned it off pretty quick so will be ok.
re Clutch, mine was like that too, if the plate has stuck you wouldbe able to press the pedal down, so I guessit's the slave cylinder, either the warmth of the engine or regular pressur should free either prob. but don't press too hard, you'll bend the pedal. Honest.

Too late. I hope the pedal will straighten up! I think it's the slave, but how do I go about freeing it?

Cheers
