992 Lifting Kit

I've narrowed my 992 GTS search down to three cars, one crayon, agate grey and ice grey.

One I'm edging towards has the front axle lift, as there are a number of speed humps around where I live.

How useful is it, or is it just overkill?

Does standard clearance go over most/all speed humps anyway?

I personally think it's overkill on a non GT3 911 - had it on my 992 S and never used it

I'm due to lock my GTS spec next week and can't decide whether to option lift. Never had it on my 991 GTS and never missed it but is it essential for resale?

The only porsche it be really useful on is a GT4 and its not available

Overkill on a non GT3 / RS porsche.

If lifting kit is over kill, what about rear steering? A must have? or would PCCB be a better option?

I’ve only had my GTS since Monday and, after reading a few “must haves” lists, I was a bit worried that the car would be unusable due to not having the front lift!
I needn’t have worried as I haven’t found a speed bump that it couldn’t clear and it also easily clears the slight incline onto my drive.
My opinion would be that it’s probably a nice to have but, for me, not required or worth the cost.

FAL.

Depends on your usage.

Had a 992 CS with the lowered suspension option and no FAL.

Scraped on ramps in a couple of multi storey car parks and the more extreme speed bumps.

Since then had a 992 GTS and a 992 Turbo S (lowered option) both with FAL and no problems.

I had it on a GT3 Touring and never used it.
RWS and PCCBs actually contribute dynamic benefits.

I have it on mine and it comes into use every time I drive it. Owing to a funny entrance and exit into/out of my drive/garage and also the works underground car park. So for me it was a no brainer to spec it and glad I have.

Specced on my 991.2 and have used it a number of times around Devon & Cornwall where drives tend be steep and also for driving across fields at motoring events….probably not strictly necessary but takes the worry away.

Didn’t have it on my 991.1, couple of scrapes, especially in French car parks. Got it on .2.

If there’s nasty jumps locally, and it isn’t breaking the bank, I’d get it.

Got all 3 on our 991.2 GTS

FAL was a must for us due to a steepish drive , would scrape every time without it.

Sold my 718 gt4 due to ground clearance issues.

I wouldn’t not have it for the little that it costs,
you may live to regret it in the long run.

I have it on my 991.2, apart from sloping car park entrances it’s proven useful in negotiating some low kerbs.
Got rear steer too, can’t see the point in that though

I'd say that if you want to keep the underside of your front PU pristine, then get FAL. I've not got it but would have found it useful on two painful occasions.

RWS makes for a feeling of agility and thus improves enjoyment IMO.

On a GTS I would say it not really needed, GT3 is the opposite!

This for me, needed it for my driveway, but use it all the time, I do have the aero kit so the front lip is longer.

Agree with this. I had it on a 992 C2S and rarely used it. I’d suggest it’s more a ‘luxury’ item on anything non GT/RS related so depends on your budget and what you’ve included/excluded and would be pretty low down my own options list.
