I see S5 is out. Should I make a point of watching S1-4?

Or are they overhyped?

Each DTS season is probably best enjoyed as a recap of the season of F1 just gone, so I would say start with the new season. Assuming you like it enough, then go back through and watch the earlier seasons - each has interesting/funny/shocking moments.

I would say it's not over hyped, it just 'is what it is'. It's all factually led but there is a layer of additional dramatisation liberally applied. Netflix and Liberty openly accept that, there are even some nods and in-jokes about it in this latest series. But beyond the re-arranged and edited conversations and added dramatic sound effects, there is genuine insight and behind the scenes access.

It's without doubt extremely popular and very effective at drawing new fans.

In view of the fact I thought Indycar started this evening, I shall now delve into DTS and patiently wait for Indy next week. laugh

Ignoring that nothing is in the correct order, loads of dodgy sound effects to try and make it sound more exciting, radio transmissions played in random places and Netflix aren't with every team for every race so alot of stuff gets missed. I think it's still worth a watch.

I lost interest in f1 years ago tbh, but love drive 2 survive which partly rekindled my interest.

It's all the drama rolled into one.
