So I have this car for a couple of days and have no intention of plugging it in to charge. Not fussed about mpg and would like to have access to the full combined 220bhp as much as possible.

How well does this recuperate energy? Any tips on how to drive this and have as much fun as possible?🙂

Not trying to be funny but why bother buying it if you're not going to plug it in to charge?

Full hybrids need to be plugged in, mild hybrids do not. You bought a full hybrid so it needs plugging in. In general if not charged your battery will remain around 1-3% of charge during normal driving, not enough to guarantee your combined 220bhp for any distance at all.

In my old 530e you could set it to charge the batteries whilst driving, clobbers the mpg but you might be able to get a full charge that way as would assume it works in a similar way.

I reread his post, seems he only has it for a couple of days hence not plugging it in.

Yup, a few years ago every director in my company had a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. I bet when they all went back to the lease company every single one still had the charging cables sealed in their plastic bags in the boot.

Aye, everyone in my wife’s company switched from 320d’s and C220d’s to the 330e and c300e .. not one of them was ever plugged in and charged. Probably doubled the fuel cost to the business rofl

If its like my old 530e, regen will get you 1-2 miles range and as long as its got some charge you will have full power for a period.
Or
You can set the engine to charge the battery.

That's what I'm hoping! Fingers crossed it is. Thanks!
