Just flew over RAF St Mawgan going east….any ideas what it could be

A lifting frame for something. Multiple attachments on the frame to spread the loads through whatever goes below it, and a single point release on the helicopter if things start going wrong.

It’s actually a tethered test of the new stealth helicopter. More work to do on the main rotors, but they’re making progress.

I believe it’s part of the new radar on loan from RAF Luton, it can rotate at 80085 rpm, thus creating a better view of air traffic for radar operators and will act as early warning for Chinese spy balloons.
