Printer Q - help wanted/needed/begged for please

I don't profess to know everything there is about virii etc but I would be very surprised if it were one.

Honestly, it sounds to me that either:

a) You have a duff black cartridge
b) You haven't put the cartidge in properly
c) The printer is duff (obviously only on the black ink)
d) At the outside, the printer drivers that you installed aren't working (these are the things you load when you first get the printer and put in the manufacturers CD)

I'd be surprised if it were software related, but it could be any of a, b or c.

Try reseating the black cartridge - making sure you've removed ALL packaging (some cartridges come with a piece of tape over the nozzels)

Buy another black cartridge.

Take the printer back to Currys and get them to test it.

Someone more knowledgable may be along shortly but the above may help for the time being.

as for a proper answer, i dunno, but check for a cybercafe or technical colledge near by. save to disk, and take it to said places, and print out a copy. i've never had a problem with a printer...so un fortunatley i cant help better

Short term, change the colour of the black text to a very dark blue or grey, and it should print off what you need for now.

This is the bit that points to the PC. If two different printers are doing the same thing it indicates there is a conflict.

Have you tried uninstalling all printer drivers and then installing the new printer?.

Also is this same problem occuring when you try to print from the same application?, it would be useful to know what you are trying to print from word etc.

Could you print the invoice from a different application?.

Have you looked at the printer settings on the PC (AND in the application - eg Word) you are using? I would have thought that otherwise something would have shown up when you installed the drivers for the Lexmark..

maybe it could be font colour ? you might have it highlighted as black, but it could be white in your application you using
