Vauxhall astra rear brake problem
Discussion
Hi guys wonder if anyone can help me I have a vauxhall astra 1.6 2015 and had some new rear pads put on my car last Thursday because my rears was getting a bit low and squeeling on the drivers side rear , had them fitted been fine all weekend and got in car today and the squeal came back just for a few touches of brake on the rear drivers side but then it disappears could this be weather related ? But when the guy fitted me the pads the drivers side piston was tight and wouldn't go back but it eventually did could that be the cause
It's still there but only intermittent it's first thing in a morning just the right drivers rear but then disappears and then on the way home from work but then goes after a few brakes but like I said the drivers side right rear piston was a little tight when wound back in but went back in could this be the problem

I detest calipers that have to be wound in, you don't get a true feeling of how tight or not the piston really is, plus its not as easy as a free floating piston to exercise a few times in the bore to free it up.Yes if the piston is tight, ie starting to seize then squeal is a symptom...family Golf under 20k miles needed new rear pads and discs due to sticking sliders one side in our case, scored the disc badly.
The Mrs has an Astra and the rear pads needing doing. I think it was still on its first set. I had a battle trying to retract one of the calipers, and had to resort to putting it in a bench vice to get enough pressure on the wind back tool to retract it.
It's been fine since, even pad wear each side and gone through several MOTs.
