Need a SUV ~£20k
Discussion
Hi all,
Looking at purchasing an SUV for my parents and I'm stuck for options. I was so close to buying an F25 X3 (2015) but pulled out as it's a diesel & we're in London so it's pretty risky to put ~22k into an X3 that could tank once the ULEZ standards are updated in a year or 2.
They're currently in a Lexus IS300h and are more then happy with the refinement/economy etc. They just need something a little bigger/higher for comfort.
Am I missing anything as most cars I see with comparable interiors/luxury element are all either diesel or super expensive.
Any help / pointers would be appreciated!
Thanks

ULEZ regs will be going for petrol next & that's around 2025 diesels won''t be in the line of fire until Euro7 regs have been in pace for quite a few years.Looking at purchasing an SUV for my parents and I'm stuck for options. Hi all,
Thanks all for the suggestions so far.
The RX is a good shout, but our budget will only allow us into one of the earlier ones & the inside looks more dated than the Is300 they've got currently.
The NX is a good shout - I really ought to arrange a test drive for them in one of these.
Mazda - never thought about it, but will definitely check it out.
With regards to the ULEZ standards....Euro7 (from my brief googling) suggests it will limit the "nox" number to 0.60 from the current 0.80 of the Euro6 standard. Have I misunderstood? Cos the X3 we saw is a 30D Euro 6 with the perfect spec and if the Euro6 diesels are safe, we should probably get one of them as it's perfect with regards to space & tech.

Have you seen a source for this? I've not heard, and can't find, anything about future tightening emission standards beyond the current 80 mg/km Euro 4/6 level.samoht said:

I do & the next planned change is for petrols to be Euro5 BUT this is dependent on the next Mayor carrying on with the current policy.Gassing Station | Car Buying | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
