Can anyone recommend a company who can supply and fit a bathroom in East London (Bow). I need to get my bathroom done and would prefer to deal with a single company. There seem to be any number of places that will sell you a new bathroom but won't fit it!

I am not looking for a designer job! A fairly simple (but well done) job is what I am looking for.

We had ours done a year or so ago and I think it came to around about a grand all in.

Try www.bathstore.com ... they have a branch in Commercial Road.

I was there last year (yes I've been putting it off for at least that long) and they only sold the stuff. I even asked the (very unfriendly) sales person about fitting and was told that they did not do that. Perhaps they are worth a second visit...

Ah, must admit we didn't use them for fitting, just for a few of the bits. Try the Yellow Pages for a plumber?

Robbie Duncan,

Whereabouts in Bow? I'm in the same area! (Strahan Road - just north of Mile End.)

Sorry, don't know any good bathrooms fitters, but I do have a friend who is an interior designer (in this area) and he may know someone - if you want his number, that is.

Hewison Street, just beside Roman Road Market. I'm not really looking for a designer! I just want to get it looking OK as I'm probably going to sell the place after Christmas...

what exactly do you need to do? is it just swopping over a suite? or does it involve tiling and flooring too?

Tiling, flooring, possible a bit of plastering. Perhaps electrical work (lighting)...

Basically the whole thing!

Thanks for the heads up Trev.

Robbie, I would only be too pleased to quote for your bathroom supply and install if it wasn't for one thing.....The travelling.
It wouldn't be cost effective i'm afraid.

I would do as has been suggested and ask about rather than go through the yellow pages.
When you do find somebody, make sure you see some of their work and they can't start straight away!
Any tradesman worth their salts should have lots of work at the moment and if they haven't.....well, you know the score.

(Trev, you don't need a new bathroom or kitchen in the new house do you mate? It's just that i'm scratchin about abit)

Let me know if you find anyone competent! I'm in East London and could do with a bathroom being fitted. I wouldn't mind getting decent fittings though, so don't want a monkey crapping it all up!

Hey, I don't do bathrooms!
However I could do with a new one, and also need to find someone that will do the whole thing, from measuring up, ordering the stuff and fitting, plumbing, tiling etc.

Ah! Close by! I thought I was the only PH'er in the area. Hello!

Where are you thinking of moving to? Staying local?

And DanH lilves nearby as well! Where, dude?

Oli.

P.S. Sorry about the childish "where do you live" questions. I am just delighted to find that my area, which I thought was a PH dessert, is actually packed with good, honest PH chaps!

My firm owns quite a bit of property in Bow/East End so Im up there fairly often

Spent 15 years working in Bow Road (my old offices are directly opposite the bottom of Fairfield Road)

Most of our stuff is for rental so we dont go too 'high end', but use (and have done for 15 odd years) a local building firm in Forest Gate, Luckings Builders (anything from roofs to plumbing to electrical etc) 020 8503 1500. Ask for Ron (the owner and former wrestler and club bouncer..dont forget to pay your bill ) or Marie and tell them Nick from Masseys sent you

Ron has done work in my own home and am willing to recommend
