991.2 S Advice on possible purchase
Discussion
Hi All,
My first time posting here. Im currently driving a Macan GTS (2017) but now looking to get back into a 911 - last one I owned was 10 years ago 997S Gen 2
Looking for some advice on a possible purchase from OPC. Car in question is 991.2 S 5 years old. 22,000 mile FPSH
Whats you thoughts on a car of that age have 4 owners so far - would it put you off ?
I inspected the car yesterday and although body work looks good except some stone chips on nose I found some niggling issues with interior.
Both plastic seats backs are badly scratched and in the rear there are several small dents in the interior panels also steering wheel looks worn with a couple of nicks on the leather of the air bag. Front seats also have a few scratches (leather really shinny) Knowing how well I look after my cars I was concerned about how this has been looked after / driven from previous owners (all 4 of them ?)
Now I know Im buying a used car and there will be signs of general wear and tear but it would be good to get some opinions and thoughts on anything else i should be asking the dealer.
The car has a great spec over £20k of extras and would be coming with 3 year OPC warranty.

Four Owners at this age and mileage isnt uncommon nor assuming the car has been serviced to schedule should it be a worry . What does worry me however is either tatty bodywork or interior . At this age and mileage I would expect a relatively unmarked interior with perhaps a little wear on the driver seat bolster . Anything else such as what you describe then I would be walking . This is by no means a rare car and generally well specced , I always feel that much of the pleasure in Ownership is in the selection so I would be looking at as many as possible and enjoying myself whilst doing so . You seem to be much like myself in the way you look after your cars and if you bought this particular car then I feel these faults would simply nigggle at you every time you looked at them . Get out , get searching and enjoy yourself .My first time posting here. Im currently driving a Macan GTS (2017) but now looking to get back into a 911 - last one I owned was 10 years ago 997S Gen 2

Good evening Mrspaceman
We're all.different, what suits some doesn't suit others.
I am on the lookout for my perfect 991/992 but I haven't found it yet. They're so darned expensive at the moment
I can't anything that suits at the moment, too many owners, too many miles of wrong spec. I'm sitting it out until the right one comes along.
My take on it is this:
I would not be considering a car with too many owners in the history especially if it's young or done so little miles, but that's just me. Consider the fact that when you want to move it on it will be then 5 owners. How would you feel about that? You yourself are already having second thoughts with 4 owners. Can you rest easy with so many owners? Do you have doubts about it being a problem car being moved on? Only you can relate. Sounds like it could be a problem to you. You'll have the warranty but do you want the potential Hassle?
You say it's a good specification but is a little uncared for in the interior. Can you live with the imperfections? Does it come up to YOUR expectations for a 22,000 mile car? Can it be improved to your liking and can it be reflected in negotiating the purchase price?
I have noticed in my searches that these cars do tend to have many owners in a short period of time. Well more than would be MY ideal. What the reason for this is, who knows? Maybe wealthier people can afford to chop and change on a regular basis / whim just to scratch the itch.I
These cars are not cheap and I would be looking for what suits me. You will have your own ideas what suits you.
Go with your gut I'd say.

Cheers for your opinions so far. Just to update the OPC has offered to put right the issues of the interior and have said they would send me pictures of repairs before purchase to make sure Im happy. Regarding the owners I have since found out it looks like this was a pre registered car so 3 owners in reality. I would prefer less owners but having looked for weeks on official Porsche site & independent the vast majority have had 3-5 owners 9 including ones with less than 10,000 miles. I'm planning in keeping this car for at least 4 -5 years so it might not matter so much in the future.
