I've had my first Lotus Elise (2002 111S) for almost a year now, after 25 years of waiting to get one. Loved them from the first picture I saw. Did a track day in 2006 in an S1 and swore I'd have one by the time I was 40. Had to wait until I was 45, but much better late than never!

I need to get the timing belt(s) changed and find someone who is good and trustworthy for any future work I get done.

Also, a body shop capable of dealing with the fibre glass would be good. There are a few little jobs I'd like tidying up.

I live just off J35 of the M1, North Sheffield.

Perhaps worth speaking to Jon Seal in Wakefield. I'm not sure that he does any service or repair work there but he will certainly know where to point you, particularly on the bodywork stuff.

Bit of a trek but make the journey to see Dave and John at Seriously Lotus in Hull.

I wouldn't let anyone else near my Exige.

They’re having an open day 7/4 btw. Hog roast for all comers in a Lotus. Opening the new enlarged and refurbed workshop.

Not any help on bodyshops, however you live quite near me and I wondered if you wanted any photos of your lotus? I'd happily do them for free, cheers

Sorry matey - only just seen your post as I only normally use PH for TVR stuff. You can't get any better than Chris Foulds at Honley https://www.fouldsmotors.co.uk/ or David Underwood at Eckington in Sheffield for Servicing 07974 372223. For Bodywork, Malin Motors at Hillsborough specialise in Fibreglass repairs https://www.malinmotorbodiessheffield.co.uk/body-s...

Resurrecting this thread as I'm in a similar position to the OP and need to find someone to service and look after my S2 that I've just picked up.

I'd heard that Swifts in Sheffield was decent but their garage has been replaced with flats! Any suggestions gratefully received...

FWIW I don't think you need a lotus specialist with regard to mechanical work. Not sure which engine your car has but whether it it's the K series or the Toyota both of them are well known and were widely used so my suggestion would be to find a good Indy to look after it for you. Given the age of both engines you might be better off finding someone 40+ as chances are they will have more experience with them as they probably saw a lot of them when they were younger.

The above is just my opinion and others may see it differently.

I have the K series and a recent cam belt change came in at £480 including new water pump, carried out by my local Indy by a guy I've used for some time use to look after all my cars.
