I just read a comment from a guy in another forum who’d bought a car in Germany which was a cancelled US order & apparently had a factory powerkit option.

Anyone heard of such a thing? I’m aware of powerkits for bringing an S up to GTS spec, and the old X51(?) for the Turbo before there was an S, but not heard of a GTS powerkit and can’t seem to find anything via Google.

991.2 GTS came with bigger turbos, updated ECU and revised exhaust to give extra 30hp over the 991.2 Carrera to give 443bhp/450ps

This package was then available as official Powerkit for Carrera S.

Yes that’s what I referenced in my post.

This guy reckons his GTS had a powerkit raising power to 480, iirc.

992 GTS has 480hp.

But there isn’t/wasn’t an additional FACTORY upgrade for GTS to make that more powerful. So I’m pretty sure they are mistaken.

That was my thought as well, but with it being a US spec who knows? He did say he’d had it dynod at that level. Which of course proves nothing, could have been aftermarket tuned of course before he got it.

It’s not uncommon for turbo’d Porsches to produce a little more on dyno than the claimed figure. This difference means that some of the bumps in power after tuning aren’t quite as dramatic as claimed, although still impressive.

I’d be surprised if it was out by 40 bhp though over the expected amount. A couple yes, but that much? Seems unlikely, surely?

At Litchfield motors they were talking around 10-15 bhp more, so not 40.

Maybe the chaps who did the dyno run were a bit off with how they calculated engine power. They’re measuring at the wheel and then calculating. 911s probably have lower transmission losses than other manufacturers and so they could have overestimated engine power. Just a thought, but this is one possibility.

Doesn’t the GTS engine cover say power kit on it, same as an S model with the power kit fitted? Maybe that’s what he’s confused about.
