Can anyone offer any advice on where would be the best place to sit at Imola? We have flights and accommodation booked, just waiting for the tickets to go on sale.

When I went (way back in 1995) I had a place on the embankment a few hundred meters up the hill from Tosa. No seating but lots of lovely soft grass to sit on - and lots of lively Italians.

We went in '87 - great drive there and back BTW . In those pre internet days , even booking tickets was not easy , and we didn't do our research very well. We picked two ideal seats at Variante Alta - or seats which would have been ideal if the circuit had ran clockwise, as we mistakenly had assumed .... But a fabulous circuit and wonderful people . Food was sublime too - we stayed in a small town to the south called Cesena . Great viewing at Acqua Minerale and Rivazza .

The biggest surprise on arriving was that parking was mainly in enterprising local's front gardens - the circuit is literally on the edge of town .

Enjoy .

I can hear the voice of Murray Walker calling out those corner names. F1 always seemed so exotic back then.

Am I the only one who thought that this was going to be a thread about racing seats made by Cobra?
