The absolute tragedy that happened in this country in which a young Brazilian was killed has been discused on here as we have all seen so I dont want to go over that again.
Brazilians are very upset and have protested. The government wants answers fair enough but.
Am I the only person who thought hold on Brazil? isnt this the place were shop keepers arm themselves with guns and torches and go hunting street children with the Police turning a blind eye? Forceing children to hide in sewers?
4-5 children are murdered in RIO alone every day
Isnt this the place where daily shotouts in the favellas between police and drug gangs routinly end in innocent bystanders getting killed?
Arnt amnesty internation always going on about police torturing people?
Am I the only person who's thinking hang on aminute old chap youve got a bit of a nerve?

Nope, self same Brazil, brilliant at football, but mass starvation (50,000 a year die of malnutrition).

Think Im also correct in that there are Elections due anytime soon, surely the 2 issues couldnt be related. Could they ?

It doesn’t matter how bad things are in any other country, if something bad happens here we must pay.
IIRC we have one of the worst Human Rights records in the world if you look at the number of decisions that have gone against us. How’d that happen? Answers on a post card please

To be honest, it is our press here that is creating the exposure. It is a tragic situation, but I am not sure the police are handling it properly by adopting a hard line attitude. If/when an innocent Brit is slaughtered in Rio by their police, I expect we'd all be brassed off.
I have spent some time in Brazil and can underline some of the points made - it is a lawless place - no question..

Know your inside history and think politically. Junk the spin and prevarication of our police spokesmen. Many of our "trained firearm officers" are lately from Northern Ireland where they worked undercover for the Boys In Blue in that god forsaken land. As I said before, they are chosen as hit men because aggression comes easily; extreme patriotism is branded into their brains as motivation; they don't hesitate to pull the trigger, nor will they indulge in remorse afterwards.

Would advise at this time that part of my job entails defending the various Constabularies throughout the Country in relation to Civil claims as lodged against them (including Armed Response Units) & certainly your comments were news to me.

Also, your assertion regarding the mental-makeup of the firtearms officers involved and their place of training could do with some qualification... What, you can;t show where and by whom they were trained? Your argument is pointless rhetoric.
There is a demonstration at 10 Downing Street on monday which is being attended by the victims family,ime going along with a few stellas just incase it turns into a Samba.
On the serious side you cant right a wrong with another wrong and the Execution and why it was allowed needs to be brought out in the open,surely this sort of thing never happens in Britian?,Maybe Blair not being in control of his dick will cost him his job.

Ignore this guy folks, he has proved he exists in a pararrel dimension. I have trained along side 5 sniper teams from the 256 Infantry Brigade that are in the Gulf as we speak. I assist with instructing international police forces who train in Louisiana sponsered by the US State Department(US Antiterrorism Assistance Program). I am aware, first hand of the various training methods. Trust me, LA is talking out of his ass. That ludicrous statement just exposed his bias and ignorance in one fell swoop. DISCLAIMER: I am speaking of US soldiers & Police forces(as I believe you live in the US). If you were referring to UK Police, I retract my statements and apologize as I do not know their methods. If you were referring to the US guys, my statement stands.

Are you saying that our Police are trained by Israeli's now? Do you mean that as some sort of slur upon the Israeli's?
And I'm sure the Hit squad term is abit innapropriate.
In fact, notice the word fact, it means true as opposed to meandering bile..
Our Police forces have taken advice on tactics to use against Suicide bombers. I dont have a problem with that consdiering they have the most experience. Or would you rather they go ask Ken Dodd for advice?

The point I'm make is against a shoot to kill policy. The idea that our boys are "in control" at all times merely because they are our boys is hogwash - a good mid-west term.

I was just about to vent my spleen on the various crude, naive, ignorant & shameful comments as raised by los angeles, but as you yourself have had experience with firearms et al, it seems more befitting coming from you, as opposed to an office jockey like me.
Have to say though that to refer to the brave Police Officers who volunteer (yes volunteer) to serve in the Armed Response Units of Police Forces (& by inference risk their lives in order to defend Society), as "hit squads" really does demonstrate what an arse of the highest order LA must be (would have been more vociferous, but couldnt see it getting past Ted).
