Where to get TVR service - Essex/Suffolk

Hi all, I bought my Chim 500 new from Kerridges in Needham Market in 2002. They’ve done the annual service & MOT ever since but now sadly no longer trading.

Any recommendations for where to go next please? I live on the Essex/Suffolk border.

Hi BC,I dealt with Kerridges for 30 years,I’m still in touch with Jamie the previous head mechanic there. Do you want me to ask him who he recommends?

Thanks, I spoke with Jamie earlier this evening. He did the PDI when I bought the car over 20 years ago, serviced it and done the mot ever since. Sadly he can’t service it any longer. He suggested Python Racing in Colchester but didn’t know too much about them. The other possibility is the Lotus/TVR place in Bishops Stortford.

Trouble is I’ve always used Kerridges/Jamie.

Yeh likewise,I’ve now got a trip to Mallory Park each time I want the Noble done !
Bespoke (now part of Hilton and Moss) have a good rep’ and Skip was the mech at the TVR centre years back.

Another vote for Mat. Great guy and knows the cars inside out, serviced my TVRs for over 15 years till I moved away from the marque.

Python are excellent. Jody will give out reams of advice for free over the phone and did a great job on my car last year.

I have tried a few specialists over the years, but keep finding myself returning to Taylor TVR in Kent.

This might be a bit out of the way for the OP though.

Mat smith. Races a chimp and has worked with everyone, everywhere. And a thoroughly nice bloke.

Not sure which bit of the Essex Suffolk border you are near but if further north Franklin Sports and Classics at Stansted are super helpful - 2x ex Bespoke chaps (Brad and Matt) well worth looking up.
