The OH has Bridgestone all weather tyres on her Polo, she likes them and they have given no hassles with colder temperatures and snow driving.

But, they do wear out rather quickly, we had the fronts replaced about November 2020 and 16k they are needing changed again.
It’s a 60bhp 1.0 engine so not really a tyre shredder of a car.

So looking at changing for other all season tyres.

There’s the Cross climate 1 and 2.
Good year Vector 4 seasons.
Plus other makers.

Is there a decent comparison for wear rates and keeping their ability as they wear?

Look up on Tyrereviews.com
They often have the wear ratings.
The Hankook Synergy 4S2 seems to win the "mild winter" all season tyre tests. Don't know how long they last.

I can't compare them to anything else, but just to say that my Crossclimates have now done 18000 miles and the worst one has 5.5mm left. Toyota Prius, with frequent drifting and burnouts... smile

Didn't keep an exact note of mileage but we've had cross climates on our old Accord Tourer runaround for a few years and they're wearing well despite the "if in doubt flat out" driving style of the OH.

They're also amazingly capable on snow - certainly seem to be pretty much as good as the continental pure winters that were on before. We're live up a track on a hill in Aberdeenshire and the only times i've got it stuck have been trying to bash through drifts when I really should be driving the Hilux.

We're running Crossclimate+ on the Octavia and they seem to be wearing pretty slowly. The CC2 is apparently a markedly better tyre in terms of grip but I don't know if that's an the expense of wear.

I got a good 45K out of a set of 185/65/15 XL CC+ tyres on my 2015 Combo van - mainly mways/A-roads. Had the tracking been done properly Iprobably would have eked a few more miles out of them.

Currently running a set of 195/65/15 Vredstein Quatracs on the replacement 2017 Combo van. Very early days but good reports on wear, I seem to remember.

Those were amazing for wear on the previous 2017 Merc GLC350d that I had. The rears lasted 70k miles and the fronts lasted 50k miles. I've never known tyres last as long as they did.

We have Vredestein Quatracs on our Fabia 195/55 x 15. I don’t think you can go wrong with Vredestein.

Agreed.
Had numerous Vreds on family cars over the years, all have been good, have used their all seasons and winters long before it became common in Britain, all performed well.
The only issue is they've become well known here particularly in all season/winter rubber so the once bargain prices arn't so bargainous any more, same can be said for Falken summer (and offroad) tyres, summer set on our Forester are now over twice the price i paid 3 years ago.

Rears have about 3-3.5mm so will also need changed soon as well.

Tyre size is 186/60/15 so should have plenty of options.

To update and finish this.

We went with the cross climate 2s.
Tyre reviews rated these as the best all rounder.
Rear tyres still have 5-6mm so will run them down then change over.

Mobile fitting done in the driveway so let the guy sort the car while we sorted stuff in the house.

Update on my Vreds - rotated them (front to back, same side obv as directional) at 7,000 miles after 7 weeks (I do between 5-8,000 miles per month in the van - long distance courier). Tread all round still at 7mm. I think these tyres may be on my van a while yet.

With that tyre wear rate I strongly suggest getting the vehicle geometry checked.

You're running one of the best tyre sizes you can have too 195/65 x 15, together with 205/55 x 16 probably the best choice and value you can get.

Been thinking about an Auris Hybrid estate circa 2016 age to get the £0 VED, the baser models come on your size which is another box ticked, smooth ride and tyres cheap as chips.

Only ever had good service from Vreds, glad to hear they are still cutting it, obviously they still come with more than the measly 7mm some makers now think is enough for a new tyre.

I've noticed this as well. I recently put a couple of new Continentals on the Merc and they didn't have as much tread on them in comparison to the new MPSS that I put on the M4. I find it a bit annoying to be honest, especially because we do big miles in the Merc so they won't last long.

Put a pair of Goodyear Efficient Grip 2 on a family Golf a few months back, decent price bonus to find over 8mm tread on them.

Present set of Falkens on our Forester only came with 7mm, whilst i have no complaints with the tyre at all as you noted its annoying, and something i shall be looking at in all future tyre purchases.

Yup, my Goodyear EfficientGrips came with a full 8mm tread. Agreed, it is something I will look out for from now.

These things will not wear down. I was contemplating rotating again, after putting another 9,000 miles on the van. I shan't bother - tread on all tyres remains firmly 7mm. I think these will turn out to be record breakers

Just thought I'd give the final scores on the doors for these for anyone searching the interweb years from now.

I wasn't too clinical with rotation, sadly, otherwise I reckon I might have got better results:

180,886 miles : new Vredestein Quatracs installed (195/65/15 95T XL)
188,183 miles : rotated
210,795 miles : rotated
242,156 miles : rotated
246,525 miles : replaced rears with new Vredestein Quatrac
258,914 miles : rotated
273,725 mies : replaced rears with Goodyear Vector 4Seasons

So, one set lasted 65K, the other a staggering 92K (nearly 93K)

Got my money's worth for sure
