Unusually not a complaint but praising.

I’ve got a 2 yr old Fiesta with 23k on the clock and I’m impressed with how good the wiper blades still are.

With the sheds I usually ran I was replacing blades every year even tho they were ‘decent’ ones.

Now I’m worried that when they eventually go I’ll be back to that same old routine.

Does anyone know where I could get the same blades? Would even a Ford dealer just give you aftermarket ones that I could buy anywhere?

You can get genuine OE, no daft adaptors, clip right on.

Just replaced the Fiat 500’s, first set in four years, were only a few quid more than generics.

Search for genuine Ford/ Motorcraft.

Bosch Aerotwin from Halfords. Will clip straight on to a Ford with no adaptors.
No need to pay for fitting.

Bosch Aerotwin.

Pretty much a set for every car so no adapters needed.

I usually get mine on ebay.

My experience: I splashed out on some Bosch aerotwin wiper blades and they seemed to last no longer than cheap ebay wipers.

Personally I don't buy them because I think they Will last longer, I buy them because I think they are better.

I generally get 2 to 3 years out of a pair. I think any rubber exposed to the elements is going to perish in that time anyway.

Silicone are supposed to be the next best thing, seem to be less common in this country though.
I still use Bosch at the moment, nothing else seems to last 5 minutes.

I have Bosch on my Fiesta too and have fitted them to all my cars over the years, no complaints.

Bosch again. Rear for my Golf is about £6.50, fronts about £22. Not worth messing around with anything cheaper for those prices.

My current set of Aerotwins were new in March 22 and need replacing already, usually get at least 2 years out of them but maybe all the rain we’ve had has taken it’s toll on longevity.

Tempted to try some Valeo’s this time around.

From Halfords?! Are you made of money? biggrin Wipers start to get expensive when you have half a dozen cars to maintain. I buy Bosch ones from Maison de Bezos for sometimes half the price Halfords charge.

Yup. Another vote for Bosch Aerotwin from Halfords. I use those on our Skoda Fabia and BMW 335d.

I buy generic Ebay flat blade types. Fronts and rear for £8 delivered. Replace them every year even if they don't need it. In reality would probably get 2 years out of a set

Out of interest, what is it that make you change your wipers? Is it that they shudder or chatter across the screen, or what? I have a 20-year-old car that I've only changed the wipers on once. Because they were stolen (yes really!) when I was working abroad in Germany. I've never found that wipers rarely actually wear out. Some just become stiff and don't follow the curvature of the windscreen properly, but that takes a few years to happen.

If it's the chattering problem, here's the fix:

I've historistically used the Bosch aeros and been very happy with them. However, on my current car I was disappointed to find that they diidn't fit the curvature of the screen as well as the originals, and so had to switch back to the OEM ones.

I do find though that giving them a wipe with 303 protectant whenever I wash the car helps to keep them in good condition and working well. I also ceramic coat the screen when I do the car, which also seems to help.
