Hi,
Can any advise whether an S2 could be used as an everyday (30 miles per day) car - including the winter months?
I can't afford the S2 and a back up!
Cheers

I use my S1 everyday so I can't see you'd have any problems with an S2

Cheers guys. Just been reading about the guy with the (5 in total) issues with his new S2... Hmm!.

It won't put me off though... Going for a viewing tonight. £18k for a 17,000 mile S2 all in black...

If it is a second hand car with 17K on the clock all of the niggles should have been sorted by now

I hope so. I'm taking an S1 owner with me, so hopefully I'll be asking the right questions...

Yes - I've had my S2 for 2 years now and used it every day - no problems yet either!

Not everyone likes 'em, but I got a hard top for the winter too.

Buy it, drive it, enjoy it!!

not only it's ok as an everyday car
(i use mine for commuting, shopping etc - although since we have 3 kids we do have another car which is for my wife) but gives the everyday commute a bit of spice and helps you smile too (and I'm driving it in gridlocked London often).

Have had an S2 as my only car (daily drive) for over 2.5yrs.
Have done ~50,000 miles, no worries as an everyday car.

Personally I reckon a lot of problems associated with Lotus/TVR type machines arise because they are used as weekend/sunny day cars..

When used Daily two of my TVRs had few problems at all (the 350i we won't talk about at all...) yet when I started using them for sunny days, I had the niggle crop up............I reckon they are built to be used, and the engine/oil/gearbox/gromits don't sieze up if they are used regularly..

All in all, GO for it !!

Defo. I did 33K in 2.5 years in my S2 111S. If you can get the 111S do it, as it is the most economical if you are cruising in it. (As in motorway driving!)

And you get the most stuff as standard in a 111S, including a hardtop these days.
