Hi all,

Got a mate who needs to get hold of some realistic genuine sound effects of Wellington AND Stirling WW2 bombers, for a play he is putting on, (has to be these, Lancasters or similar will not do), anybody got any ideas, because he is stumped........:scratchchin:

Cheers...:)

You could try contacing the Imperial War Museum at Duxford as they might have a recording of the sounds.

Contact the RAF museum - they have huge archives and if they don't have them, nobody will.

Brooklands...

They have a Wellington Bomber in the hangar and they have a recording playing on the display which gives, what I would guess as, a realistic representation of sounds in the plane.

Real sounds, eh?

Caught a snatch of a Discovery Wings programme the other day.

Footage of Spitfires and Hurricanes had been dubbed with sounds of diving radial engines......
