Good points seem to be they are reliable, well equipped and dealers are spot on.

Bad points, really bad infotainment and really slow when pushing on?

Pretty much the same things that massively put me off our current honda crv. German suvs do better in these departments but the whole minefield of missing options does my head in (not such an issue on Japanese vehicles) .

Any real world experiences? Especially those with young families.

Test drove one and hated the CVT gearbox.
Felt slow even with hybrid assistance.
And noisy.
Ride very firm.
Seemed large enough for a family
Ended up buying a 2016 XC60 D5 which drinks fuel, but rides much more fluidly, and can get a shift on if you floor it
