Looking for a set of high performance all season tyres for my BMW 330e, that can handle wet weather, ice, mild snow and spirited driving in the dry well.

Ideally the Pilot Sport 4 AS would suit me but they don’t sell them here.

Times are tough for me right now so I can’t afford both winter and summer sets.

Right now the car has got hopelessly bad cheapo ditchfinder RFT’s, 3 tyres are different. As you can imagine this is hopeless in any type of weather and also gives a poor ride on M Sport suspension when combined with the ev powertrain. (luckily for my spine I have 18in alloys)

Top of my thoughts was the Michelin CrossClimate 2, but I am not sure how they would feel on a twisty B road.

Or do I go straight for Pilot Sport 5’s and use them all year round?

The family cars all have Pilot Sport 4’s on them, but I have witnessed just how bad my mum’s hack is with them in this weather (Lexus IS300h), couldn’t even handle mild snow. Probably with the CVT gearbox as well.

Pilot Sport 4 and 5 are both Summer tyres, so it’s no surprise that Pilot Sport 4’s aren’t very good at snow. All Season tyres are a compromise between Summer tyres and Winter tyres, so they aren’t sporty in the summer, but they will grip reasonably well all year.

As mentioned in other threads, I have Vredestein Quatrac Pro all seasons as the winter tyre on my Civic Type R.

They've got a more summer-esque tread design than most all seasons, but they have served me perfectly last winter and in the present snowy conditions.

They tend to do best in wet handling, which is ideal as most of the UK is wet and cold - They sacrifice in snow (Still miles better than summer!) and dry a little, which hurts their overall rankings in tests.

In my experience they are very comfortable and quiet, suprisingly agile, and have a satisfying balance when driving - They have a light oversteer tendancy as noted in tests, but they are informative and progressive on breakaway meaning it's an enjoyable property rather than a hazard.

In this instance, another positive is their reasonable price - There are a few discounts on at the moment.

It's a shame the PS4AS Offering isn't here in the UK - It'd probably be perfect, but these are what I came to when searching for an EU alternative.

I've got the regular Vredestein Quatrac on a shed Peugeot 208 which I drive like a teenager, and they're brilliant. Ultimate grip is lower than a good performance summer tyre but doesn't actually seem far off a touring tyre, they're nice and progressive, not too squishy, and appear to be wearing well.

I'd put them on anything other than mega performance cars for sure, it pissed me off that my 2010 Jaguar XJ with all of 270bhp to it's name has tyre sizes the same as a V12 twin turbo megasaloon so I can't get sensible rubber for it.

Despite having the word "sport" in the name the PS4 and PS5 are not particulalry sporty, I find the PS5 quite squishy and much easier to slide around with on my 2019 MX5 compared to the Bridgestone S001 that it came from the factory with. The PS4S (and ultimately maybe PS5S) are their sportier offering.

For something like a 330e a decent all season would be ideal IMHO.
