Well the R32 went a few weeks ago, so instead of having another older car, i opted to move up the years this time.
Its a 2018 M2 LCI this time. Seems to have a decent spec, which is what attracted me to it.
DCT
Harman Kardon,
ICON Adaptive Headlights,
Electric Heated seats,
Reversing cam,
Sun prot glass,
auto dim folding mirrors,
Mineral Grey,
FBMWSH.
Initial thoughts - although probably not notably quicker than our M140i in a straight line it very much feels the well reconciled package you would expect. Very capable and much more planted than the M140i is.
I commented to my wife its like the M140i's angry big brother
Just got it home about 30 mins ago, so pics to follow.

Despite owning "better" cars than the OG M2, its still the best car I've had, and regret selling.
People obsess over the 140i being just as quick, and the Competition being "the car it should have always been". Its an epic car in its own right imo
I adored mine.
Yes, i'd agree with the M140i comment. Ours is probably as quick as this, BUT its the handling, brakes, exhausts, induction, looks that make all the difference.People obsess over the 140i being just as quick, and the Competition being "the car it should have always been". Real sense of purpose and poise with it.

People comparing 140i or 340i to M2s, M3s and M4s are missing the point of an //M car.People obsess over the 140i being just as quick, and the Competition being "the car it should have always been". Its an epic car in its own right imo

Sure, with a few upgrades, BHP and straight line performance can be comparable, but that's never the whole story.
I highly doubt that most who "obsess over the 140i being just as quick" have had the chance to drive an M2 or any other //M car

Very much agree. There’s a certain something that the M cars I’ve driven have had that even quick normal BMW’s lack. The E9x M3 had a real zing to the whole car that my M140i was severely lacking. There’s far more to assessing a car than just numbers on paper.Sure, with a few upgrades, BHP and straight line performance can be comparable, but that's never the whole story.

I've got immaculate wheels envy. I have the same style/colour on the M4...but mine are corroded to high heaven in comparison now though!
They did look nice for the first 6 months, but once the winter got hold of them(either the dealer/previous owner must have done a cheap refurb on them) the corrosion started to spread fast.
I need to get them sorted...but I've been saying that since about February though!

Love these with the large fenders and stance.
Agreed yes. They look very purposeful.cerb4.5lee said:
I've always loved their side on view as well. I remember the first time I saw one and the brakes looked ace behind the wheels, and it had a very nice pumped up nature about it I thought.
Yes they definitely have a look going there. The 2 series looks narrow by comparison. Falcuono said:
Not a fan of these diamond cut wheels, corrode like hell too.
I’m more a 513M wheel fan.
Would even like them on my F31 Alpina B3 but they don’t fit properly.
Saving for M2
I'm not a fan either. I’m more a 513M wheel fan.

The issue is getting 9x19 fronts and 10x19 rears with the correct offset.
This brand has been recommended to me as i can get the exact spec of the wheels thats on the car replicated.

They're also quite like the 763M style rim.

The 513M is a lovely wheel I agree. I like the style of these diamond cut wheels because at least you can see the brakes behind them easily in comparison to the CP wheels(same with the M4 too), but as you say the downside is that they are diamond cut though. I’m more a 513M wheel fan.

I'm a bit of an old git so I tend to just prefer the old school full silver wheels like what are on my 370Z in comparison. Loads less hassle to keep looking nice too, because you don't have to keep getting them refurbished like you seem to have to do with diamond cut wheels.
