Doesn't this prove the F1 stuff about 'the 22 best drivers in the world' is pure nonsense?
If they're the best, how come so many don't last more than a couple of seasons?
How come they all speak English ? That suggests that no matter how good you might be, you can't race F1 if you can't speak English, which , obviously excludes drivers who are brilliant but have poor language skills.

When the competition is so tough, you only have to be the slightest bit slower to fall behind. I'm sure Nicholas Latifi must have very high skill to lap within 5 or so seconds of Verstappen, for instance, even though he looks rubbish and is losing his seat. If European, they'll usually learn basics at school and through their junior careers, especially since many reloacte to the UK to race British F3. They'll become mostly fluent when they get into the F1 path through feeder series and improve from there. Don't forget that most F1 teams are based in the UK, and English is already widely taught and seen as useful by many. Some might find it harder if from elsewhere, ie Tsunoda, and some drivers haven't really spoken any in the past. As for best driver? Historically I've usually said Sebastian Loeb, and I included F1 drivers when I said that, and can see hes still decent now. Since his retirement from WRC I've not really followed any other series in particular, so would be hard to say.

He started from pit lane (after accidentally triggering the fire extinguisher instead of starting the car for the warm-up
