SAT NAV - ADVICE SOUGHT
Discussion
I've just bought a 2002 530i A Sport without Sat Nav and am considering a retro fit. Where do I start? What should I buy and at what price? As a technophobe I'd need to pay to have it installed. Who's recommended and how much should I budget? Anyone in Kent or close? Advice welcome

I looked into this when I first got the B3. I came to the conclusion that it would be expensive (~£1K) and people weren't that complimentary about the system anyway.
I opted for TomTom on my phone which whilst isn't as tidy as an integrated solution cost a lot less (£200) and I can move it from car to car.

Never had any issues with it taking me down dead ends etc - but that's not a fault of the system, only of incorrect map data
That said, I wouldn't bother retrofitting it - it's a time consuming job and too expensive to do so compared to external solutions now (eg. TomTom - which can be taken to your next vehicle etc)
