Was bored at work today and surfing.

There are litterally hundreds of websites dedicated to uncovering the 'conspiracy' behind the 9/11 attacks.

A lot of the the stuff actually makes pretty good sense and there are many things that don't add up.

For example not one component from the aircraft that supposedly hit the Pentagon was recovered.

The hole in the Pentagon that the plane made is not big enough for an aircraft to fit through.

The only footage of the plane hitting the Pentagon (taken from a CCTV camera at a nearby petrol station) was confiscated by the FBI/CIA and has never been publicly shown. (Can you imagine that the Pentagon is not covered in CCTV cameras?)

Also the desperate phone calls made by passengers aboard the jets are called into question - mobile phones don't work at altitude.

War is big business.

Do you think it was all smoke and mirrors to drum up some trade?

Thats because you've only read one side of the argument

For example not one component from the aircraft that supposedly hit the Pentagon was recovered.

Aircraft are made from Aluminium, there wouldn't be much left - although the original statement is false anyway, since wreckage was recovered

The hole in the Pentagon that the plane made is not big enough for an aircraft to fit through.

Aircraft wings aren't that tough - they would cantilever into the body upon impact. Besides, the photographs are mostly taken after the front wall collapsed

The only footage of the plane hitting the Pentagon (taken from a CCTV camera at a nearby petrol station) was confiscated by the FBI/CIA and has never been publicly shown. (Can you imagine that the Pentagon is not covered in CCTV cameras?)

Proof please

Also the desperate phone calls made by passengers aboard the jets are called into question - mobile phones don't work at altitude.

Yes they do

War is big business.

No, it was nutcases stealing aircraft

Whats ironic, is that each time we think we are possibly uncovering a truth, we are led to believe that we couldnt be further from the truth, and often we believe what we are told. Or sadly, we believe that we might have been "somewhere close" to the truth or entirely misled, after we had actually discovered the very truth we struggled to belive was possible.

Example: I believe that hundreds of humans have been cloned, birthed, taught english and studied. Some killed, many still alive. If you can imagine it, its more likely that its happened, than it has not

The government is our mother, and at this point in time, its perfectly normal for to them to tell us white lies at every turn, to take human life to reinforce these lies, and to act in the way we will only discover they have been acting in decades to come.

You will know when you stop listening to your rational mind, imagine a world of power (easy enough to do) and listen to common sense. Of course they have. And of course anything is possible, or probable, however unlikely.

I think I have seen the same thing. Was this a little flash type fim, that had the penthouse garden as a golfing green? It was pretty good! It did have a point though. Even if the wings did cantilever into the hole, why were the windows not smashed on either side, where the wings would have made contact? Those are the little things that don't make much sense. Most consoiracy types are a bit 'marble free' though!

Been here before I am afraid - conspiracy is everywhere.....

Yep, thats perfectly reasonable. The fire which resulted from the impact will have burned at an extremely high temperature. Since modern aircraft are made of aluminium, it does tend to "burn-up". Also consider that it will probably just disintergrate. I remember seeing the video of a F4 Phantom jet crashing into a concrete wall - it just disappeared.... it is that bad I am afraid!

Yep, thats right. Its an aluminium tube remember and they dont punch holes in concrete and strengthened buildings. If you know your anti-tank weapons then you will understand that the plane will break up at the first few walls and then the fuel will burn through the rest. Its the pentagon remember - its not some wood construction building here!

Maybe - but it makes sense for the security services to take such CCTV images for investigation. They have no need to actually release it to the world. Remember people died when that plane crashed..... ghoulish if you ask me....

Not true.... a mobile will work on a plane. However, range will be limited at altitude - though I am talking 30,000 feet here! It will work at much lower altitudes and dont forget that its radio waves here and when there is nothing in the way (like trees, hills and buildings) then the range is much better! I certainly remember being on a short-haul flight to Scotland once on which a bloke decided to make a few phone calls - we were at a good 10,000 - 20,000 feet... and this was a good few years ago.

Quick question. Why was the grass not burnt?

There are so many unanswered question and half truths... again, we will never know the truth.

Right, that's it. Warm milky drinks (Ovaltine)
all round, and up the stairs to Bedfordshire.

This sort of conspiracy theory is clearly brought
on by ingestion of French cheese prior to sleep;
so let's stop it, and stop it now. Eh?

War is big business but only under certain circumstances.

1) As long as you can control it, it will be big business for you.

2) A terrorist attack is not a way to make money. Terrorism tends to come from unknown entities and not from nation states or governmental orgainisations. As such is not the kind of thing that can be combatted by the armaments indiustry - information and the global policing are the key weapons here, not rifles.

And 3) War is big business but not in America (as far as gov't officials are concerned. Have a share in S&W? You're gonna be watched. US officials HAVE to be transparent - Watergate taught them an awful lot.

Forgetting the conspiracy side of things for a minute and focusing more on the nutters out there, 911 is the emergency services number and 9/11 the date.

999 is the UK emergency services number........................9/9/2009

This is false, there were several pieces recovered.

Landing Gear Strut.

I could go more but this explains it all in greater detail than a simple shock effect flash movie.

The only reason that a conspiracy theory has developed over the Pentagon plane crash is as follows;

Aircraft components were recovered.
The hole was big enough.

A large proportion of the impact zone collapsed, but most were only able to view it from a very great distance. Those who were able to see the hole only saw it for a brief period, and when the building collapsed, the hole looked smaller.

The components of the aircraft that were recovered were not made available for widespread viewing.

Both of these issues are due to the fact that the pentagon routinely contains highly classified material, mostly on paper, that most people in the US were unauthorised to see.

Once the building had collaped, the building was open to the elements. The security was breached to the extent that the classifiedd material that the walls are built to contain was fluttering about on the breeze.

The clearup was not prolonged, exclusively military in nature, and classified. For obvious reasons.

It's not that there was no wreckage, damage or evidence, it's just that no-one saw it.

i dont know if this is true but one reason we are not meant to use mobiles in planes is because of the base stations.

iirc a pilot was telling me that if you are in a plane - because many many base stations have easy line of sight to your mobile, so instead of your mobile having access to 3-4 base stations it suddenly has access to 40-50 base stations. because of the speed you are travelling at the network has to work much harder to keep up with you and your mobile's footprint is much much bigger causing some congestion.

i don't know if thats true though.

I just love conspiracy theories! Whatever the incident, there is always someone who says 'It didn't happen' or 'It happened like this and not like they say it did' Diana's car crash, moon landings, 9/11, the choice of new Pope, etc they all have alternative theories.
I always think of the Law of Occam's Razor. It states that 'The simplest explanation is usually the right one'
FACT 9/11 did happen. Billions of people saw it happen live on TV and at the scene. Thousands lost their lives. Is it easier to believe that all this happened or that it's all a set-up so that the American government had an excuse to finish a war that the Boss's Dad started 10 years previously?

Hang on, I may have a point there.
