Any issues with running a C7 on E10. Higher octane unleaded is getting harder to find at some stations now...

Getting harder to find, really? Every single Shell station I ever visit has plenty of V-power 99 RON which is what my C7 runs on?

My local garage has stopped selling two grades of unleaded, so only E10 available within a five mile radius where I am. A lot of the smaller forecourts with limited pumps appear to be heading in that direction as the majority of motorists don't want to pay for the premium unleaded. As you say, all the bigger stations still have plenty of E5.

Hmmmmm, guess being quite close to London it's not something I've noticed.

I'm no expert but not sure I'd be keen to be running on anything less than 97 RON.

US gasoline has been 10% ethanol for ages and is typically under 97 RON so I’d guess the C7 engine is designed to run on such stuff without issue?

Here is some information from the Corvette Customer Assistance Centre regarding E10 fuel. Doesn't mention the C7 but the high performance Z06 and ZR1 are on the list.

I always filled my C7 Z06’s and my C7 ZR1 with the best fuel available when running them in the USA and now the ZR1 is in the UK or Europe I always use 98, 99 or 100.

Run my C7 on E10 and have tried E5. Not noticed any difference at all except the cost.

I understand that 93 octane is run of the mill in the USA and sets the low bar, so anything above should be OK.

low bar ?

93 MON is equivalent to 97/98 RON.

Hardly low.

Sorry to be pedantic (but this is PH biggrin), US reported octane is (RON+MON)/2. MON would typically be 10 points lower than RON so 93 octane (US) is 97/98 RON (it’s just not 93 MON).

Every day a learning day! Thought it was all RON.

Either way, using the E10 has made no difference in the C7. However, my Makita leafblower prefers the good stuff!
