Not too clued up but currently looking to buy a new car, currently sharing a 2010 polo with my sister. Looking for something with a bit of luxury and tech in the interior.

Wants:
2013 or later
reasonable mileage (lower the better)
Manual

Current shortlist is:
2014 Volvo v40 r-design
2014 bmw x1
2014 Audi A3

You'll help yourself hugely by telling us some more info.

How much you want to spend?
Petrol or Diesel?
Your usage? As in lots of short trips or do you do longer runs?

I don't mind petrol or diesel - all the cars I mentioned were diesel.

Used everyday for commute but also will do long journeys once or twice a month

The insurance is the killer if you're under 25.

My suggestion is wait until you're 25 before getting into anything nice.

In the meantime I'd say there's little point buying anything pretending to be cool. Not to say you can't have some fun but stick to bread n' butter stuff with a small engine and save your cash.

That's advice from a petrolhead who was 22 and did it all before and wished I had had the same advice!

Ahh thank you for these, but I think I was more interested in the insurance premiums, for which I'll just check with the comparison sites
