My new daily - Ford Focus ST2
Discussion
Interesting.
I've had my ST-2 (2014) for about a year and a half and getting on for 20,000 miles (car now on 53k miles).
Just lately been looking on AT to see what else is about and there are quite a few M135i s around which I quite fancy.
My only worry is that the focus is a little tight luggage wise - 2 adults/2 kids, a week away - packing the boot becomes quite stressful. I'm thinking something like a 330d might be a better option.
As for the ST, it's been faultless since I got it from a Ford main dealer, not even required a bulb yet. But given its average practicality and so-so performance (must admit I've never really been into re-maps) it feels a good time to look at other options...

That’s an interesting detailed opening post, I’m sure you’ll love the ST2. We’ve been serial Fast Ford (and Lotus) lovers since I bought my first Escort GT in 1970. (Yes I’m old!) We bought a new stealth grey ST3 in 2015 and changed it for one of the last new ST3s in white in 2018. Both have been brilliant, the stealth did 48K with no problems apart from a couple of faulty tyre sensors. The current one is on 54K, again no problems but by coincidence two faulty tyre sensors again. Both fully serviced by our local Ford dealer.
Purists will frown that we went for diesel both times but my wife is a home carer doing 30+ stop-start miles every working day and petrol would have been too expensive. We’ve been all over Europe in both and recently got back from a road trip with friends to the Spanish Pico mountains. Great cars!
