Starring Sylvester Stallone and written by Taylor Sheridan(Yellowstone). A mob boss is released from jail after serving 25 years. He returns to the “family” he did time for and his reward is to set up shop in Tulsa where crime is low. Not for long I think.

Spooky. Somebody was selling this to me over the weekend, and your name popped up in my mind! I’ll give it a go.

I know what you mean but it has got an IMDB rating of 8.4 so I’m going to persevere

I probably will to be honest. It reminds me a little of that daft series Lillyhammer, which ended up getting its claws into me somehow.

Similar premise wasn't it?

Can someone please advise if the episodes are being released weekly or if they are all available as a box set now?

Weekly by the looks of it.

A bit silly, very predictable and every cliche going…

But easy watching and would have watched at least a few hours last night, but couldn’t figure out why I could only find 1 episode. As it’s released weekly by the looks of it, I will see if I pick it up again when it’s all released.

Although it’s one of those I can see myself forgetting about it and never watching again.

Last point and not a spoiler, nice to see Stallone openly playing and saying he’s 75 in it. When his age came up I was expecting them to try and claim he was 45 or something ridiculous.

I like it, not great acting but decent enough story to keep me interested.
Anyone know when the 2nd episode lands?

Easy watching and entirely unchallenging for viewers and Stallone. I like Sly, saw him interviewed last week and he said he's always wanted to play a gangster since not getting a part as an extra in the Godfather for 'not looking Italian enough'! smile

Starting to get some meat on it after a somewhat indifferent start.

Its somewhat enjoyable, fun and easy watch.

Was I the only one who through the openning board room gangster scene was really bad? Its like that was directed by someone else, acting and timing felt off. A guy sat at the table that doesnt say or do anything, it was like it was filmed differently and then changed in the edit. After that its been okay.

I enjoyed the first episode so will probably stick with it. It did strike me that if he's just done 25 years inside then he would have been put away at around the same time that The Sopranos was set. It amuses me slightly to think of him as a contemporary of Tony and everyone else.

Watched 4 and enjoying it.

It comes across that Sly so wanted to be a character in Goodfellas/Casino/Sopranos .etc.

I found the thing with the weed shop a bit odd. Stallone's going in, offering protection, saying the guy's money's not safe etc etc. Why didn't the owner just tell him it was a legitimate business that was perfectly legal and that he didn't need to worry about how to launder his profits? It appeared as though Stallone had no idea the whole thing was perfectly above board.
