g5052 gearbox oil and filling amount ( Help)

just replaced my selector shaft on and getting conflicting reports on type of oil and the amount to fill .can some one please help out.

The factory use,
Comma synthetic based gear oil. SX75 W90.
3 1/2 litres required.

I know it's this, because I changed mine recently and that's what they sent.

I mentioned this is in you question about the shifter mechanism. There is a very good discussion on the subject on www.GT40s.com (this is not a commercial website, rather it is a forum for GT40 enthusiasts much the same as Piston Heads.) If your gearbox is flipped, as I would guess it is, and an alternate fill plug has not been put in the box, loosen one of the output flanges and fill the box with gear oil until you get the first signs of leakage. This will get enough lube into the box to properly lubricate the diff. You will see this and other recommendations like gear oil coolers and which lube to use spoken of with the much higher torque we put on these gearboxes with V8 engines in mind.
