IMO "Their gaff their rules" but I guess the counter argument is that public venues shouldn't be allowed to discriminate based on appearance.

I walked away from a door job where the manager of the nightclub insisted on people under 30, no fatties, no ugly folk etc
From his point of view he wanted the place to have a reputation for attractive young people. He hoped it would make it the place to be. I guess that’s what this club/bar was going for.
I’m not a fan of the whole ‘body positivity’ that promotes unhealthy lifestyles, but it’s not right to ban larger people from activities.

But a dress code is rather different as it's something that's entirely optional and you can change easily - being fat is arguably a "choice" as well but does take longer to change than an outfit!

Along similar likes to this, there’s a good documentary on Netflix about the downfall of Abercrombie & Fitch, who refused to make clothes to fit fat thicker people and wouldn’t employ them either.

My muslim mate worked for them, he loved the work! He worked on the front of the store and often did promo work for them! joshcowin said:

There does need to be some common sense about the issue of weight - in the US where people are somewhat larger they barely fit in an airline seat, which is extremely unpleasant for the person sat next to them.
Arguably anything which discriminates against fat people will help encourage them change their ways, which will benefit not only them, but wider society too. It will be the biggest cost to the NHS in future years as smoking incidents decline but obesity increases.

Where are all the valiant Twitter etc defenders with their talk of how a private company has the right to refuse who it likes?
Without getting into what tvvatty clubs should or shouldn't do, isn't it a measure of our "nothings my fault it's not fair" world they think crying on media is a good idea.
