porsche cayman and cx2/dealer add ons
Discussion
Hi, I am about to collect a new Cayman from a main dealer. Would appreciate thoughts on the merits of CX2 initial care(-interior and exterior) package, for £665. is it worth it? should it be this much? do I have alternatives? Also the SMART cosmetic and alloy deal they offer-£699 for 3 years, to cover repair costs of minor damages. Like most I am making a fair investment in the car, it would be good to think that the spending stops there, before these add ons, tho I realise some degrees of protection initially and over the next 3 years may well be advisable, I would appreciate any thoughts. With thanks, P
Firstly I imagine there should be room for negotiation on that price for the Gardx paint treatment - whether its still worth it is possibly debatable - but if going ahead I wouldn't personally want to pay more than a few hundred.
I had my last new car professionally detailed back in April including full ceramic coating - took 2 or so days and cost around £1k but my wife's daily is due to arrive soon and tbh I'm just going with the dealer offering but I know that dealer well !
Its going to be about the quality of the paint in the end as it arrives from the factory -some are better than others but any imperfections will get coated in.
From experience Porsche and Audi paint isn't too soft unlike say Aston so in theory less chance of imperfections.
As with PPF ( Film ) its all down to personal choice -some swear by some don't bother !
Again personally wouldn't bother with any of the wheel etc add ons.
