Imaginary Profit Car

I wish I’d kept my last TVR, because it cost relative peanuts and would have tripled in value just sat in the garage.
If you had to stick £25k into a car, today, with the idea of selling it for profit in ten years time. What would you pick?
Counter to that, around 20 year ago I bought my first Chimaera - around £18K IIRC would be lucky to get around £12k if I still had it.If you had to stick £25k into a car, today, with the idea of selling it for profit in ten years time. What would you pick?
BUT: Lotus Elan would be +600%, E30 M3 would be +1000%, Lotus & would be +900% and all the minis, etc., each + 1500% !!!!
(not taking into account, repairs, tax, MoT, insurance, cost of garaging etc)
I think many of the JDM legends of the 90s have a way to go still; an unrepeatable era of cost-no-object engineering and the kids who grew up idolising these cars still have another couple of decades before retirement.
Here's a twin turbo, active 4wd 4ws homologation special from a company that literally didn't know how to account for R&D costs when judging a model's profitability:
https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/13889345 £40k, 92k miles

I sold my RX-7, but I'm fairly sure that'll be double the money in a decade. It might even outweigh the cost of maintenance
Otherwise an early Lotus Elise I think.
On a more modest scale I think 350Zs are trending up rather than down, and don't have too many costly issues.
