I tend to daydream quite a bit :) and cant help drifting off if only momentarily whilst talking to clients on the phone. I found the single most unseful and powerful phrase is "How do you mean, exactly?" Say it in a deeply thoughtful and serious/genuinely intereted manner and without fail, the person will repeat the entire last 30 seconds of what they said - works every time! :thumbup: The worst is falling back into a daydream, and still not know whats going on after they've told you twice. It happens :silly:

Or, "I see what you mean" which avoids having to hear again the boring shite that put you into a coma originally.
