Who is recommended to supply a hood and material to cover the targa panel for wedges these days. I can fit it myself, I just need to buy it!

I have tried contacting AllHoods and Mazdahoodshop via websites and eBay but no-one replies! I cannot find anyone else who advertises them.

These are pictures after my roof was done in Belgium by Lakewell. LHD 350i wink
They used a by them made pattern part, based on the last stock replacement roof available at the former TVR Belgium importer.
Perhaps they can provide the material, but would think that it would be more easily avaiilable in the UK such as surface and design in Blackpool...
The roof seals that is another matter spin

Just the targa part, I think anybody with decent skills in the convertible roof business should be able to do this or provide the right mohair stuff.

I went for All Hoods in the end. It was a little confusing as their guy who does the web page sadly passed away at 31 years old last month and since then the web page seems to have got a bit out of control. I called them and ordered a black mohair hood the old fasioned way!!

I'll do a post for when I start fitting the hood and targa cover. I have already ordered all the replacement seals I need and removed the old hood. The bar across the top was actually cracked where it looks like someone has tried to remove in in the past. Each side has a bracket with a lug that sits over the boss that the seatbelts attach to. In order to get the roof off, you need to remove the lining and padding on the bar at one end and undo the three bolts securing the bracket. It is not possible to 'spring' the bar inwards as it needs to go too far, hence why I think it was damaged. I have repaired it now. Interestingly the bar is wider than the width of it's mounting points by around an inch so needs careful refitting!!

The bar is made of a piece of wood covered in fibreglass and is no rollover bar!!!

Can I suggest that you look at converting from the targa top seal that is on the wedge to creating your own with a panel edge protector and super glueing on a TVR V0158 (it is what is used on the much later S series). You will need to make sure that you have the front and rear nylon fittings within the runners and the cable adjusters are free enough (and perhaps replace the cables) to enable you to set the glass height. I wonder if the hoops are all made like that, wood and fibreglass?

Getting there! Being a TVR, it is very difficult to get it all to align. The rear edge of the hood is glued to a 'C' section of fibreglass which is bolted to the body with three bolts. The edge of the hood and the surface it bolts to are not flat so the gap varies across the car making getting a straigt line across the back of the hood almost impossible. The hoop itself is nt exactly accurately moulded either and has a whole range of packing washers to get it roughly right. I do like a challenge though!!
Next job is glueing and tensioning the cover to the folding loop and sorting out the edges and seals!!

I an interested in keynsham's comment " It is not possible to 'spring' the bar inwards as it needs to go too far, hence why I think it was damaged." I I need to replace the rear window in MCWEDGE, my '86 280i. I was planning on removing the hood, including what I've seen described as the hoop, but called the bar here, and take the entire hood to a shop to have it done. Does anyone else have experience doing that? Any comments, suggestions? Thanks.

Depending on where you are situated, Raymond Pugh in Swansea, South Wales, makes and fits TVR roofs, around the £400 mark??

I spoke to him today, and I have to take the 'Cross Bar' down to him; then he needs the car for the day. I'm taking the Griffith roof down, so I'll keep you informed
