I have a small industrial unit I have just taken over from previous occupier, with an office and storage, no more than 1 person in the office Monday to Friday for 4-5 hours, no gas usage to speak of.

We have inherited the supplier and currently pay for electric:

£2 per day standing charge
£0.79 per kwh

I have been quoted:

£0.40 per day standing charge
£0.44 per kWh including a government discount

How does this quote compare to what you are paying out there?

That's bloody cheap! Who's that with? Cheapest I got quoted was 60p standing charge and 66p per Kwh, but they wanted the years supply paid upfront.

British Gas lite, I am enquiring about this government discount thing as the standard rate is 72p

As it stands you will only get the discounted rate till March 2023, then unless Rishi decides to get his hand in his pocket it’s the full rate from then on.
