Considering attending Singapore F1 2023

Giving this a bump, surely some PH's have been to the F1 in Singapore.............
Yes, I went there in 2013. Great city and showcase event. Book an hotel out of town for the race weekend itself, then stay around in the city centre for a few days afterwards to explore. Unless you like paying £1k+ per night for a basic room, with minimum stay and no view.
Choose tickets carefully, there’s a number of ‘zones’ and limited roaming between them. I had a ticket that was main grandstand for Fri and Sat, and roaming in the zone on Sunday, I managed to be level with the 100m board for the first corner, in front of the grandstand, at the start of the race, then walked around as it progressed. Lots of big screens to follow the action.
Have a Sling in the bar at the Raffles hotel, and stay one night in the Sands, just to say you did.
Next year, SG is back-to-back with Suzuka, if you fancy hitting two birds with one stone.

When in Singapore, eating in Little India is cheap and top notch...ask for a glass of rasam if you are having a banana leaf thali, it is vegetable stock base that is only given if requested - ask nicely, it is well worth it!!.
A Singapore Sling at the Long Bar at Raffles transports back to the days of the Raj/Empire and a memorable experience.
I live in Singapore and have been several times.
WIth respect to ticket options, I would recommend the following in order:
- Turn 3 grandstand (gives access to Turn 3 and you can see Ts 1 and 2 and gives access to all parts of the circuit (Zones 1 to 4) and all concerts
- Turn 2 grandstand (similar to turn 2 above and same access just a slightly different view of the first set of turns
- Turn 1 grandstand (similar to turn 1 and 2 above - you get a better view of the start - as you can see down the main straight - but a little less visibility of Ts 2 and 3 and pit exit - still excellent seats and same access as Ts 2 and 3)
- Main Pit straight grandstand - great view of the start and, if towards the end of the straight you get to see them go into T1 where some overtaking takes place - same access as Ts 1, 2 and 3)
- Zones 1 to 4 walkabout ticket. No grandstand seat but you can walk around the entire track and access all concerts (so same access as the tickets above) and while no designated seats here are various raised platforms you can claim a place on for Quali and the Race which give good vantage points. Arrive at the start of the day on Friday/Saturday to choose your ideal spot with a platform.
There are other options and grandstands, most of which are pretty good but do not provide access to all Zones. Part of the fun of the Singapore GP in my view is being able to experience all the different areas of the track over the day(s) you are there, so would suggest the ones above. The Walkabout ticket is great if you are on a budget.

Give people prices so they can see how expensive it is?
Funnily enough ticket selling sites have prices for all events and I'm sure that people wanting to goto a GP can look at prices for themselves and make their own decisions rather than being put off by the F1 hate squad .
I've done it (on a very tight budget!) a couple of times as me and Mrs HardtopManual have done a few backpacking trips in the area and would attend GPs if we were an Air Asia flight away when they were on.
Plan to attend the circuit for full days, not just the F1 sessions; there's so much other stuff going on besides the race, more than any other event I've been to.
Doubt you'll be on quite as tight a budget as we were, but we stayed in hostels both times, one near Bugis, the other near Farrer Park in Little India. Both locations were fine - Little India had more character and was a great place to grab some food on the way home from the track. The city is small enough to walk around, if you can stand the heat, but if you can't the MRT is extensive and frequent.
We were at T1 for quali and Bay grandstand for the race. Obviously you get to see a bit more live action on the pit straight, while in Bay you get a great backdrop, but will largely be watching the big screens. The circuit is zoned, so if there's off-track stuff you want to do, make sure your ticket will allow you to access the relevant zone.
Our splurge (apart from the GP) was afternoon tea in Raffles, and a Singapore sling. I wouldn't write home about it and don't recommend that you set aside any time for a visit. The food courts in the shopping centres offer fabulous SEA food, as do the hawker places like Maxwell, if you are happy to forego a white tablecloth.
Just looking at the calendar, Suzuka is the week after and its the best GP I've ever attended. 6 hour flight from Singapore, so not too bad. And a completely different feel to the place and the event than Singapore.

Having lived in Singapore for many years and attended all F1 races since 2012 I completely concur with 550man’s comments. My preference would be for a Turn 2 grandstand as you’ll get to see down the main straight plus T1, T2 and T3 and the cars exiting the pit lane. If you don’t mind not having a designated seat, the Zone 1-4 walkabout tickets are good value as mentioned. They allow access to all the many and varied stage acts around the circuit, as well as some good viewing areas such as just before T5. As it’s a street circuit a lot of the walkways are close to the track but note many have covered fencing so you deliberately can’t see the action.WIth respect to ticket options, I would recommend the following in order:

Singapore has great public transport with frequent clean and aircon-ed buses and MRT (underground) so I’d suggest you get a more sensibly priced hotel away from the circuit. Staying around Little India or Kampong Glam (Malay area) would be my choice as there’s a huge range of excellent relatively cheap local food places and some good outdoor bars. A lot of European visitors combine the GP with a holiday in Thailand, Vietnam etc. but as mentioned earlier, if you can afford to fly to Japan for the next race it’s definitely worth considering.
I've been a few times and have stayed with friends, so can't comment on the accommodation costs.
We have done pit straight, Turn 1&2 and Connaught stands, all were pretty good. Remember watching Hamilton go past Connaught on "that" quali lap,, and could see he was faster than everyone else (or so I tell myself )
Remember the race is never that exciting (other than 2017 start), so taking advantage of all the music events is a big part of it. If you are around the pits, it's quite a walk to the main stage area, but you will get access to a smaller stage where some of the major acts do a second show (we very much enjoyed Duran Duran there).
We also did the Twenty3 hospitality on the Friday a couple of times - whilst it is of course expensive, its a lot less on Friday and also really good fun with top notch food and drink etc.
Getting around is super easy on the buses and tube, so I guess you could stay pretty much anywhere and be no more than 45 mins away.
As for Singapore itself, a visit to the Botanic Gardens is well worth it, as well as the Gardens by the Bay, and the Changi Museum is very moving https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changi_Chapel_and_Mu...
Clarke Quay and Boat Quay are fun for a night out.
