I've put a deposit down on a new car and also trading in my current car. Due to pick the new car up next week. However, today my current car I've agreed to trade in has dumped all the coolant and the engine over heating light has come on.
The price on this car I'm trading in has been agreed and at that point the dealer never even looked over the car, just went off the book price..age, make, model, year etc. I'm now concerned that come next week I'm trading in a car with a fault which really makes the car un drivable long distance.
Do I just get the car there next week and trade it in as agreed or do I get a local garage to take a look and fix the issue?
I've been reading dealers do account for these types of issues and all the correction work is accounted for and most of these trade ins go to action anyway.
I've retopped up the coolant and taken it for a very small drive and it seems OK but, there is a problem some where and it is leaking coolant, not that's its at all noticeable.
What to do....

I would try and book it in at a local garage and sort the issue, unless you've essentially been offered scrap value for it.
If you can't get it booked then have a chat with the dealer - stuff happens and I'm sure they'll appreciate your honesty.

I cant get my local garage to look at for 2 weeks so have messaged the dealer this morning. Would rather be honest.
