We do quite a lot of commercial EV Charging installations but when I look back at the number of clients who never seem to respond/go quiet I am wondering if I should start charging for their surveys. All in, it probably takes a day of my time each survey/proposal. It would filter out some companies who are not really sure.

We've started being much more up front with costs to reduce this but I often feel like clients don't want to say 'That's more than I thought' and so just go along with things anyway.

However, going against this is that competitors may not charge and would we miss out?

Have you done this? Or should I just go with the 'That's the way things work' mindset?

Might be worth trialling a "Survey is £x, to be taken off the final bill" scenario? Do that on every third enquiry, see what happens biggrin

Do bear in mind that EV charging installations must be sited more than X metres from both natural gas pressure reducing and LPG bulk storage compounds / enclosures.

X dependent on gas pressure and capacity of the installations, and ventilation availability.

We've done several DSEAR assessments for companies installing EV charging for LA customers.

Yes, I forgot to put that. A colleague suggested that.

We have someone coming next Monday to survey for placing the charging point for Mrs SA's new electric company car.

Apparently they charge €175 and that's on top of the final installation cost.
