Just seen an advert for the new Civic Type R starring Max Verstappen on the TV here in NZ. He drives a white car out of a garage onto a track with typical Max gusto, hanging the tail out with a big smile on his face!
Is it airing in other markets too?

God I hope not, I really like the new Type R. Any reminder of the association with that bellend puts me right off.

yes

I'm no real fan of Hamilton, but Verstappen's behaviour/attitude is proper spoilt-brat territory and puts the likes of Hamilton/Vettel/Alonso into some proper context. Marko's influence, perhaps? Or just being the son of Jos-the-wife-beater?

Adverts in the UK aren’t allowed to show cars being fast, so any potential offence shouldn’t be required here.

I have a deposit down at my local dealership - so looking forward to the Top Gear review!!

Anyone know when UK prices / specs etc. will become available....?

My dealership 'knows nothing' and I get more from YouTube than from them...

Very different segments right? The new FL5 is a very big car, well beyond a hot hatch size it's more a saloon, even though it has an opening hatch. Yaris GR is tiny in comparison...

I’m trying to justify keeping the GR and getting the civic. Problem is the Aston might have to go 😰

Having said that, the GR and most likely the forthcoming type-r will drive far better the the Vantage. It’s been a proper eye opener with the GR - it’s so much better!

We have a GR Yaris and FK8, massively different cars, both great but go about their business differently.Yaris is like a very naughty jack russell, always up for anything and encourages you to be a hooligan every time you drive it.The R is much more sophisticated and precise and feels a lot more expensive than it was. Sold a 911 to buy the R so that says it all.
The Yaris feels like a rally car,the R fells like a circuit car.
