Find MSA logbook by vin?

Hi have a car here which I believe used to be used in stage rallies in Scotland. The guy said he was gonna send me V5 and MSA logbook but never came good, so I have absolutely no documentation for the car and don't even know what the reg was!

My question is, is it possible to get hold of the MSA logbook from just the VIN?

DVLA will issue a logbook if you go through the proper channels. It will surely be easier to then find the rest of the documentation once you have a registration number.

Things may have changed with the new passport system but with the older logbooks, MSUK (or to be correct MSA at the time I asked) had no central database
