Any new cool in-car tech to recommend?

As you don't say what in-car tech you have now it's difficult to make any recommendations.

However, I can recommend disc brakes & ABS over drum brakes.

I'd go with electronic ignition over hand cranking

Two other things worth having are a speedometer so that you don't break the 30 mph limit and a heater so that you can leave the blanket at home.
