No points when WDC is won?
Discussion
General musing, seeing the actual points tally at the moment, is it time that once a WDC is wrapped up that the driver who has won, no longer scores points for himself and just the team?
They wont gain or lose anything by getting points or not, so make first place points either distributed over the final 9 places, or bump it so that 2nd is now 1st, 3rd is now 2nd etc, meaning that teams that usually finish outside the points have a chance of getting a car in the drivers points?

Can't see what problem this would solve.
All teams are managing to score points these days, not at every race but the days of the likes of Hass and Williams ending the season with zero points seems gone.
The championship is determined over the course of a season. The point at which a Championship is won is irrelevant. Changing the points allocation mid season could unduly favour some teams and don't forget that the prize money is allocated proportionally on the points won. So your idea would see good teams loose out to lesser teams; not something I can see them voting for.
